How to get a job & PR in Canada through Yukon Community Pilot Alexander Immigration Services is often asked for assistance to obtain jobs in Canada that lead to PR. Though we still do not provide recruitment assistance, we wish to share with you authentic government-approved websites to begin your job search and an increasingly popular program to obtain Canadian PR. The Yukon Community Pilot(YCP) is a three-year pilot slated to run from Jan 2020 to June 2023 launched by Yukon.... The YCP is unique since it offers a special work permit that would enable the nominees to work for two to three employers in a participating Yukon Community. Communities participating in YCP are: Carcross Carmacks Dawson City Haines Junction Watson Lake Whitehorse To be eligible for the YCP work permit stream, foreign nationals must: be destined to a job location in a participating community in the Yukon have 2 to 3 job offers with up to 3 employers that will allow them to accumulate 1,560 hours in a single year (equivalent to annual full-time work), within the same participating Yukon community The first step would be to find employment at the participating community through these websites: https://www.yuwin.ca/ http://www.employmentyukon.ca/ https://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home Once you receive 2 to 3 part-time employments in the same community, you can apply for a nomination from Yukon. Upon being nominated, you can apply for a 2-year open work permit restricted to the location to one of the participating communities. Once you receive your work permit, you can move to the Yukon community and also apply for Canadian permanent residency. If there is a delay in PR processing, you can apply for an extension and continue to work for your employers during the entire process. The great news is that if the employer in between can no longer provide you with adequate work, Yukon will help you find new employment to support full-time, year-round work. Your spouse can accompany you with an open work permit if your employment is in a National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill 0 or A or B position. Please remember you need to meet minimum English or French language requirements depending on the NOC since you will be coming to Canada where English and French are the national languages. Wish you all the best in your job search and see you soon in Canada. www.alexanderimmigration.ca

Family sponsorships are my personal favourites amidst all Canadian Immigration programs. The joy that I get, when my clients receive a family sponsorship approval as a Canadian permanent resident, is indescribable. Glad to share that Alexander Immigration Services again nailed a very tricky Canadian spousal sponsorship today. Are you an entrepreneur? Are you self employed? Do you wish to immigrate to Canada as a permanent resident (PR)? There are multiple pathways for the entrepreneur and self-employed to become a Canadian PR and a few popular programs are listed below: Self Employed Stream The Self-Employed stream is specifically for those with experience in cultural or athletics and is willing to make a significant contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada. Example professions are ...musicians, singers, dancers, painters, directors, choreographers, editors, journalists, librarians, translators, producers, photographers, graphic arts technicians, film and video camera operators, interior designers, graphic designers, artisans, athletes, coaches, program leaders and instructors in recreation, sports, and fitness, etc. Though prior business experience in their field is not mandatory, the intention to be self-employed in Canada after obtaining PR is essential. Owner Operator Stream Under the owner-operator stream, a business immigrant buys a business at their province of choice, receives a works permit, and then applies for permanent residence under the Federal Express Entry program. To qualify as an owner-operator the foreign investor must have verifiable and transferable management experience, sufficient assets to purchase the Canadian business, Sufficient English or French language skills, and own more than 50% of the purchased business. There is no wait time and the business immigrant with his family can apply for permanent residence during the first year of working in Canada Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Business Immigration Stream A PNP allows a province to nominate a business immigrant applicant for Canadian PR. The minimum investment and net worth vary according to the province. Under this stream, the entrepreneur initially buys/sets up a business in a province, receives a work permit, and moves into the province to run the business. After a period, depending on the province, upon meeting the necessary conditions, the applicant can apply for Canadian PR. Good News International Students! The CoVid19 pandemic had a significant impact on International Students, especially those enrolled for the Spring, Summer and Fall 2020 semesters. International students enrolled in the Fall 2020 semester in a Designated Learning Institute(DLI) will now be able to start their classes online from a location outside Canada and complete up to 50% of their program online if they are unable to travel to Canada sooner. This in line with the guidanc...e provided to students already studying in Canada or whose program had a spring or summer start date. Additionally, students will not have time deducted from the length of a future Post Graduate Work Permit program for studies completed outside of Canada up to December 31, 2020. This flexibility is being implemented considering that International Students are also often excellent candidates to apply to remain in Canada permanently with nearly 54000 former students becoming permanent residents in 2018.
