Heritage Resources Management Program at Athabasca University 24.04.2021

There are two important class registration deadlines coming up this week. Undergraduate students wishing to start one of the nine undergraduate class on January 1st must apply by Thursday, December 10th: http://heritage.resources.athabascau.ca/undergr//index.php... Graduate students can choose from nine classes overall but three of them (HERM 501, 561, and 670) are starting January 6th. Online registrations will close at the end of the day TODAY, December 8th: http://heritage.resources.athabascau.ca/graduate//index.php Students can take many of these classes casually as visiting students, or they can consider joining one of our four programs in heritage studies. The Winter Semester graduate paced courses HERM 501, HERM 561 and HERM 670 are currently open for general registration to all new and returning graduate students, but the registration deadline of December 8th is coming up in just under a week. Course Profile: HERM 670: Industrial Heritage HERM 670 is being offered in the winter 2021 semester (January to April) and as such, this is a good opportunity to have a closer look at this upcoming course. Participants will learn about theoretical frameworks as they relate to conservation, interpretation, and management planning of industrial heritage. They will also learn about the principle characteristics of the industrial heritage and the array of tools and techniques us...ed for its study, care, and use. This offering of the course is timely as the next International Congress of TICCIH, The International Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage, under the theme Industrial Heritage Reloaded will take place from August 29 to September 4, 2021 in Montreal, Canada. Athabasca University’s winter semester graduate classes are now open for general registration to all students and prospective students holding an undergraduate degree. Upcoming classes include HERM 501, HERM 561 and HERM 670 in paced form, and HERM 512 in unpaced continuous enrollment format.
