Good evening parents and students, The day has finally arrived, and we are back to school tomorrow. Please take a moment to let me explain some additional things to our families as we start a very unique year! First of all, A reminder that school doors will open at 8 am each morning, as they have in the past. Our buses are on their regular schedule tomorrow, with the exception of the Morley Siding bus that may be a few minutes later. Please note, we expect to have an additio...nal bus this coming Monday. Please remember that their will be no cafeteria or breakfast program service in the first week. Students will unfortunately not have access to microwaves at the school. Please take a look at the daily screening guide on our Facebook page and website. This a guide to use when your child is feeling ill or has any symptoms. We will have masks for students in the next couple of days, however they have not been delivered to all schools yet. We ask that students have their own mask for the first couple of days. Ms. Blundon would like Grades 8, 11, and 12 to know they may get outside tomorrow as a part of their first gym/ Healthy living classes. Please come prepared to go outside with comfortable clothes and footwear for hiking. There are a few wet spots on the trail but it is mostly dry. We will be having outdoor classes as often as possible for all students. Please take a moment to look at our new bell schedule and home room list on Facebook. This will help your child get situated on their first day back. In your conversations with your children this evening please take the time remind students of the importance of wearing their masks when they are required, on the bus and in common areas, and the importance of hand cleaning, as they enter and exit the building, between classes, and at lunch. There is more structure this year in the daily routine of students. It will be challenging for them. Please remind your kids that the changes here are school are for their safety, their families safety, and the safety of our communities.. We ask for their patience and cooperation, and yours, as we begin this year. There is no doubt that it will take a few days to settle in to this routine of ours. Lets all work together to make this a good year for our kids. Thank you, Mr. Churchill

Please take a moment to review the two documents added to our webpage. One explains the expectations around busing (Student Transporation Expectaions) and the other is from the CMOH (Chief Medical Officer of Health) explaining what may happen if we were to have a positive case at a school. We look forward to getting back into the classroom with our students and working with them to get back into a learning routine!... thank you https://heritagecollegiate.ca/home/?page_id=458

Hello everyone, This year at Heritage Collegiate, we are making every effort to offer a band and choir program. Currently, the public health regulations do not allow for "normal" choir and band rehearsals, but we are expecting that to change. Currently, the PEI, NB, and NS school systems have allowed band and choir to go ahead, so we suspect that NL will likely follow suit in the coming months. That being said, we would love any students who are interested to sign-up ahead of... time. The lunchtime rehearsal time for each group has yet to be determined, and will be selected after we gauge the level of student interest. Students can sign-up for concert band, jazz band, and choir by clicking on the links on our schools webpage. https://heritagecollegiate.ca/home/?p=1213 We hope that we can get band and choir underway very soon, and we are looking forward to the students' return! Best wishes, -- Jordan Mills B.Mus., B.Mus.Ed. Music Specialist | Heritage Collegiate

Heritage Collegiate Jr High Suggested Supply List Good day students and families. We have had many requests for a supply list for the coming school year, particularly because we expect that students will not be allowed to share items. We have posted a suggested list on our website, please take a look. ... Senior high school can use this as a guide as well. However, for senior high students it will also depend on what courses that students are registered for. https://heritagecollegiate.ca/home/?p=1186

Their truly isnt a class like ours. We barely ever fought, we all had a relationship with one another and we became family. Doing stuff together. I pray we all get together again and we have a supper together because you all hold a special place in my heart. And to the teachers who never gave up on us no matter how bad we would get, we appreciate you!! Happy last day of high school guys. Ill love you all forever Sorry if I skipped tagging someone! As our year approaches its end I want to take a moment to thank our students and families for their patience in what has been a very strange and unique school year, at least in the last few months. We do have a few things to take care of as the year closes. We are asking that families return any school text books they have at home and any devices that they might have borrowed from school this Friday, from 9am to 1pm. To help this run smoothly we will use a schedule similar ...to the one that we used for students to pick up their belongings. If, for some reason, a student needs to hang on to a text or device please contact me directly via email and we can make arrangements. It's very important that things come in in an organized fashion so that we can get our materials ready for September. We are asking that students bring in their texts/devices in a disposable shopping bag or something similar. Please ensure you label the bag with the students name, or include a slip of paper in the bag with the students name. On another note, our final report card will be mailed out on June 22nd Time Last Name 9:00-9:30 A-C 9:30-10:00 D-G 10:00-10:30 Ha-Hob 10:30-11:00 Hol-Hu 11:00-11:30 K-M 11:30-12:00 N-Pen 12:00-12:30 Per-Rob 12:30-1:00 Rus-Z Thank you Mr. Churchill
