For all garden enthusiasts and anyone who loves flowers, the time to buy is now! We are offering hanging baskets, planters, tomatoes, herbs and strawberries as ...a school fundraiser. Your child should have an order form. We encourage students to show the order form to friends and family. Brighten up your neighborhood by getting orders from your favorite neighbors. Order forms must be back by April 13, 2021. If you require a new order form please visit the school office. Pick up Date for plant orders will be May 6, 2021 between 2:15 and 4:00 pm at Heritage Elementary School gym.
Here’s a contest to win $100 from Books and Co. from Literacy PG. Submit a photo/poem/etc of your family being active to win! See contest details for email and more information.
Submit a photo of your pet reading a book by Friday morning. Email Mrs. Bonin or print it yourself. [email protected] Feel free to send donations for the SPCA, as well. Prizes will be randomly drawn at 2pm Friday.
Kindergarten Registration is this Tuesday, January 26th. Heritage is a closed catchment school so you must be able to show proof of address. Thanks!
Mrs. Bonin started a TikTok account for our school library, to promote books. Families can request to follow: @boninsbooktoks If students have their own accounts, please make sure that you are discussing guidelines for social media and what you are comfortable with them posting on a public or private profile. Mrs. Bonin will upload the videos to her website, as well, under fun library videos. https://boninjess.wixsite.com/mrsbonin/fun-library-videos
Check out the artists in Division 17! I probably need FOIPOP for sharing these self portraits!!
Tomorrow, everyone at Heritage will get to see themselves and each other perform the Winter Showcase with their class. On Monday, December 14 at 3:30, the link will become live so that you may enjoy it together as a family and share it with your loved ones. Thanks to Ms. Morris for her endless hours to make this happen for our enjoyment. Here is a sneak peak...
Thanks again for the support from our families. If you’re still looking to donate, we are short gifts for teenagers (mainly boys sizes 14-16, adult S-M) and games. Thanks so much!! We will making our hampers next week!
Don’t forget it’s Pajama Day today!!!

This just in! Families can share our Virtual Book Fair link to anyone in Canada and they can order books and have them shipped, too! Please share this post with friends and family who may want to purchase books and help fundraise for our school library! https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5150830
Your generosity is so appreciated! We are still collecting items for our families until Monday. Thank you!!
Today is the day! Free shipping on orders for the Virtual Scholastic Book Fair from 6-8pm tonight. Stock up on books for gifts. https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5150830
Thank you to everyone for being so flexible with the library books this year. The goal is to have books in students' hands, so that they can practice and enjoy reading. With only seeing classes once a week for library, we let all students sign out books and hope that the books are returned by the next week. Today or tomorrow, notices will be sent home with overdue books from September to December 2020. Please send those books back with students as soon as possible. If there are any concerns, or you'd like to know the current books on your student's account, please email Mrs. Bonin and she is more than happy to help. Students can sign out books for the holidays (5 only), if families would like that. Happy Reading!
The Virtual Scholastic Book Fair started today! Some of you have already been purchasing books to have more books in your home library. Orders are free shipping over $35, but if you'd like to purchase less than that, Wednesdays from 6-8pm is your chance to get free shipping. Happy shopping! https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5150830
There is still one more week for the Virtual Scholastic Book Fair to support our school library. It runs from Nov. 16th-27th. Thank you to everyone who has already purchased books online. https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5150830
Div 8 has been reading books illustrated by Juana Martinez-Neal in the library for the Global Read Aloud. We paired it with makerspace, and tried weaving on a loom for our first time.
Shoes that were custom designed for Mrs. Picton
Love our Maker space! Div 12 designed their own shoes! Using a design plan, testing and changing as they went, students created a shoe for a specific person with features that would help that user. Watch out, Nike and Aldo!
Making Dream Catchers with Ms. Creamore
The Virtual Scholastic Book Fair is still going. Have you checked it out yet? https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5150830
