Our childcare center is open during lockdown. The EarlyON outdoor program has been closed down until further notice. Our school age program will remain closed until school reopens. Stay safe everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you. We are grateful to all of you for your support, encouragement and appreciation over the last 9 months, we know this has not been an easy time for anyone. We will continue to work hard at providing a safe and healthy environment for your child, both now and when they return to one of our programs.

Today we celebrated Karen’s retirement from Supervisor of Heritage Green Child Care! Karen has lead our team over the past 20 years and has been the foundation and leading strength of our Heritage Green Organization. When many of us first started with Karen, we had recently graduated from Early Childhood Education and were all just starting our careers in the profession. We have grown up together, celebrated marriages, new houses, births of babies and grandchildren and now... even retirement! Over the years, some staff have left, some returned, some joined our team, and some of us remained through out it all. The children we had in our first few years are now graduating college and university, some have children of their own! We have had the pleasure of having hundreds of families join our Heritage Green Family, with Karen as our leader though it all. We have grown from a small centre with 3 childcare rooms and 9 staff, to a large organization with the childcare and 3 before and after school programs and a new child care to open in 2021. We now have 35 staff who work for our team and continue to support our incredible community. The staff of Heritage Green will forever be grateful for all that Karen has done to support us over the past 20 plus years and wish her all the best in her new adventures! Karen will remain our leader as Director as she passes the torch to Kelli to lead the child care team. Kelli has been with us since the beginning, has been mentored by Karen for the past 20 years, and will do an incredible job in continuing to offer high quality care to the children in our program! A new and amazing adventure begins for all of us and we can’t wait for what awaits! See more

You are everyday heroes in the lives of children, and essential in the network of relationships that supports the well-being of families. Thank you to all the Staff of Heritage Green Child Care, for your dedication and commitment to the families of HGCC in our 4 Centres and EarlyON.

We completed our first week of being back and open. It was wonderful to see the children and the parents. As director of Heritage Green Child Care I want to say a huge thank you to the wonderful staff who worked hard to get us open again, and who have worked so diligently this week to make it all work. This is a well earned weekend.! Stay safe everyone and we hope to see more children in the upcoming weeks.

The Childcare Centre is re-opening on July 6. It’s been a long wait but we are ready! I want to say thank you to an incredible staff who have been working hard to prepare an environment that is healthy, safe and fun. I also want to thank the Child Care division( in particular, Brenda Bax, Jessica Chase, Dawn Meitz and Grace Mater) at the City of Hamilton, ASCY , Public health and our Landlord, the Family Church of Heritage Green (especially Alex Douglas) and most of all, th...e parents of the children in our care, who have supported our opening, and have confidence in our ability to do a good job.
