Sadly, we have sold out of all our fresh picked apples for this year. But don't worry, we expect to have plenty of organic cider, apple butter, syrup and slices all the way through Christmas to keep that delicious apple flavour flowing as long as possible !

Fresh organic apple cider just pressed! We did our first batch and the Cider Fridge is full. Come by anytime to pick up delicious, organic cider pressed from hand-picked apples off of our 70-year-old heritage trees. Cider freezes extremely well. If not frozen, enjoy within a day or two. Our cider has no sugar and no preservatives.

Heritage Mac, Spartan and Hawkeye (the original Golden Delicious when it was still delicious) are available. While here, you are invited to wander our property, enjoy the quiet serenity, get lots of smiles from the animals and, if there are apples on the ground, feed a pig or six pigs!

Now available! Very limited supply of heritage, organic Yellow Transparent apples. They are incredible in pies and make a fluffy, light white/yellow applesauce. Use 'em right away as they do not store well. Our price is the same as the past 3 years, $3.00 a pound. Available ready picked at our Farm Gate store in 3 pound and 5 pound bags.

Our heritage apples, mid summer. Two months to harvest for most varieties. Despite the heat, they are doing well (the white organic kaolin powder keeps them cooler and safe from sunscald and dehydration). And yes, those are pears, not apples in the last pic.

Although the late May snow here in eastern Ontario killed 60% of our apple blossoms, the remaining ones are alive and well! The baby apples are covered in white sunscreen and bug repellent (organic Kaolin clay). Here are Red Atlas, Yellow Transparent and Hawkeye apple fruitlets (all very rare, heritage varieties).

Marc and his new gal, Marguerite. Both look very happy. We use a sterilized milking machine and the milk never sees the light of day in the barn - from cow to locked stainless steel container. Ladies - now THAT is what you call a breast pump!!

We have a new addition to our Farm Family! Meet Marguerite, our new Jersey milk cow. The horses were completely unnerved by her presence but everyone, including the pigs, are all now good friends with Miss Marguerite. Say CHEESE !!

Day 12 of chicken egg incubation. Hard to see, but the black/dark areas are the developing chick. The egg sac on top is getting larger and the chick still has lots of room to move around. By day 18, it will have filled the entire shell and move into hatch position, which is the chick's head tucked under its right wing.

The Easter Bunny doesn't deliver our chicks...we have to hatch them ourselves! Here is April 14's group of 40 eggs in their incubator, all warm and toasty. Hatch Day? May 5 so stay tuned for more pics over the next three weeks to mark the progress of New Chicks at the Orchard. We hatch now in order to have new hens ready to lay eggs, starting in October.

These adorable one day old baby chicks will grow to mature egg laying hens in 5 - 6 months. Here are our wee ones living the life of luxury in their 3 story "apartment" complete with indoor heating, food, water and "waste removal" floor tray!

Our KuneKune orchard pigs last fall cleaning up apples on the ground and soaking in the sun. This was made for my grandchildren so that they could see the pigs "from afar" (and why I sound as if I'm talking to little kids).
