Intergenerational Pen Pal Project This Fall, the Heritage Treasures Museum Board in coordination with the Montérégie West Community network and Franklin Elementary School, has participated in an ongoing pen pal project between seniors in our community and 15 Grade 5/6 students at Franklin Elementary. Letters have been exchanged on various different topics, such as, Halloween, Remembrance Day and Christmas Traditions. Stories of the past have been shared with the students and ...friendships have started to develop through these letters. Some of the children have enjoyed asking their pen pals questions related to the "topic of the month" or about their pets and family life. During these times of limited social interaction this has been a wonderful project to encourage connection between the generations. Many of the pen pals are hoping to continue their letter writing in 2021! I have also added photo's of some of the seniors participating: 1. Thyra Tolhurst-Ness 2. Evie Kerr 3. April Donnelly
