Our church Heritage Valley Assembly is raising money as a Christmas Project for this wonderful charity called Sleep in Heavenly Peace. They built beds and provide bedding for children who sleep on floors within our local region. Sadly, there are children who do not have a bed of their own...and it is our church’s desire to raise funds for this amazing charity.... Joy in Adversity? Yes, as we continue with our new teaching series Finding Joy: A Study in Philippians...Pastor Matthew will be exploring Philippians 1:12-26 to see if joy can be found in adversity. Tomorrow, our dear American friends are voting for a President, Senators, etc. Could I ask us to pray for their nation. Asking a thoughtful and kindly American friend today how we as a church may pray for them, they responded...... Pray for peace and healing for our nation no matter who wins or loses! This Sunday morning and next we will providing you an opportunity to sign and extend your thanks to our veterans. Just before Remembrance Day, one of our church elders and I will be taking it to one of our city’s Veterans Care Facilities to share with them.... Please take time before or after service to sign... With permission from Margaret Shepherd today, could I ask us to pray for Margaret’s cousin Lily in Coleraine, Northern Ireland (see accompanying pic of Coleraine). Margaret has been in touch with her regularly. Lily is 85 years old and has contracted Covid 19. She also suffers from some other medical issues.... They would really appreciate us praying for her at this time. May we pray that God would bring her and her family through this difficult season. Thank you dear friends! Pastor Larry

This coming Sunday morning we will be joining others global wide in the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. We are honoured to have one of our precious students from Vanguard College, Graeme Gibson, to lead us in a special prayer time for our dear brothers and sisters around the world facing oppression due to their faith in Christ. As well, we will be worshipping together in song and the scriptures.... Pastor Larry continues our sermon series from the book of Philippians...Christ’s Twin, Philippians 2:1-11. Last night our church governing body, The Pastor’s Council, met together. It was a fantastic meeting as usual... We decided that in place of holding a church Christmas Banquet (which we are unable to do this year due to Covid 19 health protocol), we will be supporting two non profit organizations.... We will be raising money as a church for a Greater Edmonton organization that assists needy families in the community at large...specific details to come in a week. Ha...a little teaser! As well, we will be raising money for a global organization assisting needy women in the developing world...more details to come! Again, a little teaser! In a week, we will be sharing the names of the charities, along with how you can donate... Stay tuned dear friends!
