Did you know that early part of the 20th century pink used to be a boy’s colour and blue a girl’s?! Did you also know that in America by the 1890s and the early 20th century, manufacturers attempted to sell more children’s and infants’ clothes by colour-coding them and some branded pink for boys and blue for girls, and vice versa?! You can google it and find some interesting articles on the subject.... When you think about it lots of definitions that we believe were written in stone and are the only natural ways of things are mainly for marketing/ advertising purposes and we’ve been consumers for centuries! It annoys me that as soon as a child is born actually even before birth we start labeling him/ her and putting them in framed/ limited definitions. Even if us as parents don’t do it society sooner or later will do it for us. Finally made a very small batch of chocolate from bean to bar. 70% dark chocolate made with Maya mountain, Belize origin beans. While back my sister brought me two packs of cocoa beans from Dandelion Chocolate in San Francisco. Finally used my new equipments and enjoyed every step of making delicious chocolate from unroasted beans. It has fruity flavour notes. I still dont have a winnower and separated husks from nibs all by hand which was a lot of work and at the same time good distraction from all the worrying news.
