Big day in the kitchen on this rainy day: apple & pear crisps; preserved pears; fermenting Brussel sprouts; cleaned & stored carrots, parsnip, and beets; and sliced apples ready for tomorrow morning’s apple-pineapple chutney.

Big harvest today as we get ready to plant next year’s garlic: potatoes, carrots, beets, parsnip, Brussel sprouts, green onions, ground cherries, and tomatillos. Now to store and process the bounty so we can enjoy it over the months ahead.

Good news! We have a selection of $2 and $3 bulbs remaining and our business cards arrived. Let us know what you want for your kitchen and/or your garden!

We plan to be at the Vankleek Hill garlic festival on September 8. We’ve had a great crop this year and will have it cleaned and cured in time for the festival. Hope to see you there!

We have strawberry plants. Anyone want them? Pick up in l’Orignal or downtown Ottawa on weekdays.
