Lockdown #3 Update We wanted to let all of our clients know that we are fortunate enough to be able to continue to stay open and offer our services to the community of Strathroy. With that being said, we want to reassure all of our clients that we are taking the necessary precautions to keep you, ourselves, and our community safe by implementing extra cleaning steps, wearing our proper PPE, and screening everyone that comes into the clinic.... We all know that everyone has different comfort levels with COVID-19 and that you get to make your own decisions about your health. If you are no longer comfortable coming into clinic, many of our services can be offered virtually, so simply talk to your clinician and you can discuss options to continue your care from the comfort of home! (#loungewear ) We look forward to seeing you all next week and hope you have a lovely long weekend! Myth Busting Mondays There are many pre-conceived notions about pelvic floor physiotherapy and this is just a tip of the iceberg. So let’s break it down together. ... No we don’t have to do internals! We do them but based off of your comfort levels, whether your condition indicates that an internal would be helpful, or what your body is telling us in our session. Many clients never have an internal and that is 100% okay! You don’t have to have had a baby to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist! There are many other reasons why you may come and see us. Painful periods, pain with sex, leaking of urine or stool, urinary urgency, etc. It is NEVER too late to want to address your pelvic floor concerns. We have women across the lifespan coming for treatment, from ages 18-90+years old! Both Olivia and Amy have heard women say they wish they had known they could address their *BLANK* earlier! Alright Mamas, whether you had your baby vaginally or via C-section, you still carried a baby! Going through pregnancy can affect our pelvic floors regardless of our delivery methods. Also, C-sections have scars and we often work with women on these and how to help them move comfortably after their surgery Boy oh boy is this a big one! Depending on your symptoms and what we find in our assessments tells us whether we should provide kegels or not. Often we need to work on relaxing our pelvic floors before we work on strengthening. Stay tuned for a future post on this! If you are still curious or have questions about your pelvic floor then click on the link in our bio and Olivia or Amy would be happy to chat more with you! #strathroyontario #strathroycaradoc #middlesexontario #lambtoncounty #519london #519ldn #londonontario #519shoplocal #yxu #womenshealth #womenshealthphysio #womensupportingwomen #supportingwomeninbusiness #pelvichealth #pelvicfloordysfunction #incontinence #kegelexercises #csectionrecovery #postpartumbody #postpartumjourney #periodpain #wellnesswarrior #prenatalcare #pelvicpain
