Not all basement windows are egress windows. For example, some unfinished basements may only have ventilation windows. These windows likely wouldn’t meet the standard code for egress windows. Specifically, not all egress windows function like the HERR egress window. Our 180 degree model is able to fit smaller openings and can meet egress standards with little as 17 in height. Egress windows are important to keep you safe in case of emergency, acting as an exit for the household and entrance for fire personnel. Throwback to one of the Therma-tru Canvas doors we used on a home in 2015. This craftsmen style door features Emtek handles and Endura trilennium multi-point hardware for added security. A note on the multi-point hardware is that it makes a huge difference not only in security, but also in efficiency. The hardware hugs the door at the top and bottom, bringing it tight into the frame.
