My home office is easily one of the rooms I spend the most time in my home. I’m slowly starting to transform it into a space that feels like me, but I wouldn’t be lying if I said designing this room typically takes a back seat to everything else going on in my life! So excited for this full home reno where we are transforming this 40 something year old home into a new place that this young family can enjoy for years to come. I love the programming process, as I get to learn about the unique ways a family lives in their home and transform these ideas into thoughtfully articulated design plans. These plans include a large kitchen with multiple seating surfaces so there is space for all to hang, while being open to all the social rooms so e...veryone can be seen and included. We also enlarged the utility area, as this growing family needs plenty of space to hang their coats and store little boots, and doubled the size of the laundry area making it a place you actually want to fold clothing in. I’m loving this dreamy master bathroom concept created for one of our repeat clients. The bathroom is a tired looking space that hasn’t been touched since the home was built. The room has some beautiful natural light thanks to a huge window over the tub, which will accentuate all the bright and fresh finishes we are proposing. The last day of 2020, and boy has she been been a year. Merry Christmas Eve I know this year is looking very different for all of us, but that doesn’t mean the spirit of the season is lost. . Growing up, we often celebrated Christmas on a random day because my Dad worked overseas and would be away for a month at a time. Sometimes Christmas was at the beginning of December, other times it happened in January. The thing that I learnt from this is that Christmas doesn’t have to be on a specific day. Christmas is about spending time with the ones you love, whether that is in person or virtually. The magic of the season can’t be stolen because it looks a little different from the norm. . Wrapping up one of my final projects of 2020 with a fun room refresh. We are saying goodbye to the brown and heavy feel of the room and saying hello to light, bright, and fresh! Our goal is to make this room feel more inviting and comfortable, while bringing in a youthful vibe. The plan is to add floating shelves beside the fireplace for family photographs and colourful accessories, and balance out the heaviness of the dark tile (which is staying as is).
