In the words of our ethical fairy godmother. (via @project_stopshop) #HeyArchive #RethinkRetail
They say you should refresh your undergarments every 6 months. That is a very fast turnaround considering how long one item can actually be worn. Undergarments are one of the highest rated items to be thrown away due to bacteria and use. To curb your waste, wash your delicates and donate them. Secondhand stores will resale items that are new and many charities around your city are looking for used undergarments for individuals who are in need. Please Google places to donate in your area and keep them out of the landfills! Alternatively, donate your used garments to places like Value Village so they can be handed down to Sorter Graders for recycling. If you're unsure what to do, call your city and ask questions! #HeyArchive #RethinkRetail (image via @domsli22)
There are many terms to note when discussing the topic of used apparel. Here is a quick recap by our friends at @thredup so you are always in-the-know! #HeyArchive #RethinkRetail @ Vancouver, British Columbia
Your cotton t-shirt includes but is not limited to: 2,700 litres of water, pesticides that pollute water, soil and health of workers, toxic collarants, dangerous working conditions in fields and factories and transportation for manufacturing, packaging, shipping and more that contribute to the carbon footprint. This is a lot to take in and we know you're going to buy shirts. It's time to ask #whomademyclothes. Education is the power to make change! Shop small, shop secondhand. #HeyArchive #RethinkRetail
