Heart for the Nations International 01.05.2021

Palm Sunday, Jesus rides into Jerusalem, people meet Him and He has a message that many have a hard time to swallow. One of the things He said: "Those who walk... in the darkness cannot see where they are going. Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light" John 12:35b-36 This Sunday is Palm Sunday and its a great time to evaluate our trust and relationship with the Lord. We can welcome Him with excitement, but how about through our daily walk, where are we with Him. The time is near for His return, are we ready? Join us this Sunday morning online here at Heart for the Nations Church and Ministries Facebook page or on our website: hfnationsministries.org, click on "HFN Church Live" button on the welcome page.

Note from God to church: 1) Until Jesus returns, there will always be evil in the world. 2) No political party can establish the kingdom of God. 3) All authority is given to Jesus. 4) In His name and power, go and make disciples. 5) Review #'s 1-4 on a regular basis.

Greetings all! I want to talk about relevancy today. I remember when I was a younger man, trying to get through whatever challenge was before me. I remember whe...n I was trying to find answers to my life in all the wrong places. One day I remembered when I was riding my bike and went to my friend's house and his mom greeted me at the door. At that time I wasn't a believer and apparently she was, but I didn't know it at the time. I had a long day working a night shift, and just turning into young adulthood I looked tired. I thought I would visit with my friend as I usually did. After a few weeks I haven't heard from my friend since my visit and I decided to call him. He said to me when I called him and when I asked him why I haven't heard from him. His response was "did you show up at my house high on drugs?" He then proceeded to tell me his mom said I looked high and that he shouldn't have anything to do with me anymore. Well, at that time I was not a believer like I said, and I was immediately offended because I had never touched any kind of illicit drugs in my life. I knew they were "Christians", but I didn't even know what that meant except for judging and rejecting people for apparently no reason. I remember how offended I was with a response of "these people are so irrelevant to my life". Sometimes we as Christians or I like to say "followers of Jesus Christ" make assumptions and judgements that are totally baseless thereby damaging the relevance of Jesus Christ in someone's life. I proceeded shortly after that encounter to experiment with drug use and my life went down into a spiral. I do not blame them for my indiscretion, but there was no witness for a soul that was ripe for the harvest. Relevency is important, but we misinterpret what that really means. I want to give you some tidbits on relevency: Our God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God doesn't change. Love is the power that has always been relevant. People from the beginning of time needed love, as we do today. Everyone is able to be touched by love. Our God is love. Everyone since the beginning of time has gone through trials and heart ache. Everyone needs strength to go on. Everyone needs hope. Hope, that keeps our faith alive. Faith to see a better day, or see life to get back on track. There is nothing more relative than hope, faith and love. This makes an ancient God, a contemporary God, and a futuristic God real and relevant because He is the culmination of all those things. His relevancy does not depend on human interpretations or generational time periods. I know we as believers have this in Christ but please don't forget that those who are looking for these realities that come across your life. Be ready in season and out of season to reach out to those who need a touch of the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, relevant for all time. Jesus is coming back, let's get busy with the Harvest.
