New comics this Halloween week of 2020!

Happy Harbor Comics 13.10.2020

So hey, I've mentioned the Wonderharbour's first EXCLUSIVE cover variant, this spiffy Silver Fox & Wolverine image by Kyle Charles, former HH Artist-in-Residence & artistic contributor to the mag it'll adorn, Marvel's INDIGENOUS VOICES anthology before now, right? I think I must have. I mean it's out next week, like literally a week from today. Kyle and Vince have been on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network talking it up, and if the rumours are to be believed, they'll ...be making some kind of big announcement on Global this Friday sometime. It would be kind of silly not to have been trumpeting this book (and cover) hitting the shelves IN ONE WEEK at every available opportunity, wouldn't it? So I mentioned it. Yeah. I must have. - Foley

So the week's new comics got to my place at roughly 2:30 this morning. The late night delivery was the only option that would let us get them on the shelves before Thursday afternoon sometime. We're now working frantically to get the books processed and out for sale by noon, but technical difficulties like our server spontaneously shutting down and the toothpicks keeping my eyes open breaking are hindering progress somewhat. Foley Factoid: Candles actually have more than two ...ends, and I'm burning allllll of them. -Foley

New comics this week at the Wonderharbour for October 21st

Happy Harbor Comics 05.09.2020

Big announcement. This will most certainly affect many stores. Fortunately for WonderHarbour, the Wonderland chain, our online stores, the network of comic stores we distribute DC comics to, and our affiliate stores in the U.S. our supply chain of DC comics will remain UNAFFECTED.... Thankfully we can all still enjoy our favourite stories. http://Firstcomicsnews.com

Happy Harbor Comics 10.07.2020

Comics to watch out for Wednesday: DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #1 - BATMAN and SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN writer James Tynion IV's new Image book, illustrated in an expressive, Bill Sienkiewicz-influenced style by DYING IS EASY artist Martin Simmonds. At a quick glance it looks like an X-Files conspiracy theory type thing but Tynion's got a nifty twist on the Truth Is Out There concept that immediately spins things off in a much different and very entertaining direction. I li...ked the first issue, but the second made my chest tighten the way it did when I first read SINK, AMERICAN CARNAGE, JACK STAFF, BEASTS OF BURDEN--books that remind me why I love comics as much as I do. HEARTBEAT tp: FAITHLESS artist Maria Llovet is amazing. Her Black Mask book LOUD is the best visual representation of a nightclub's deafening volume I've ever seen on the printed page. I don't even care what the story is, if she's drawing it, I'm there. I think this one involves vampires in some way, but don't quote me on that. Just pick it up and look at the art--you'll dig it or you won't, and you'll know pretty much instantly which side of the fence you're on. GUDETAMA: ADULTING FOR THE LAZY MTSYRY OCTOBRIANA 1976 - The one-shot by the wholesome half of the Cartoonist Kayfabe youtube series hosting team, STREET ANGEL creator Jim Rugg. The Octobriana character has kind of an amazing history (the story of her real world creation, I mean, I don't know much about the character herself) that's too long to get into here but I encourage you to look into the Cartoonist Kayfabe episodes featuring Rugg discussing it. CHU #3: On a month by month basis, CHEW was the most consistently entertaining comic on the stands for the eight years it was published. I've only ready the first issue of CHU, because I want to savour the collection, but that first issue convinced me writer/co-creator John Layman hasn't lost a step. MARIE & WORRY WART LON CHANEY SPEAKS YEAR ZERO #5 THAT TEXAS BLOOD #4 - I caught onto this later than would have been ideal, but it's a nice, creepy small-town horror story with a very Ed Brubaker/Sean Phillips vibe, which is to be expected from the colourist of CRIMINAL, I suppose. OLYMPIA tp - A riff on Marvel's version of Thor written by Calgarian writer Curt Pires and his father. A harsh, spartan art style that won't be to everyone's taste, but I like it. SHIVER BUREAU tp ANGELA DELLAMORTE v2 #1 -Foley
