Bass season opener First smallie of the season

Bass-mas Eve ‘twas the night before bass opener And all thru the house Not a lure out of place, not even a floating mouse... The tackle was sorted into boxes with care In hope that the big one would soon be theirs The reels were lined, and the rods were strung The stringers were ready for bass to be hung The boys were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of largemouth danced in their heads. And mom has packed lunch, and so we’ll all be well fed, and rise from our bunks before the sky’s red With the sky not yet blue, streaming mugs full of brew We’ll take one canoe, and two of our ‘yaks And wait for a lunker to hit with a SMACK. So wish us good luck, that we survive all the muck And tomorrow we dine on bass oh so fine! Merry Bass-mas to all, and to all a good fight ~Fin and Iain McShane
