We are preparing for our Forest School program that starts this week. The maple trees are tapped and ready for the maple syrup making process. The wood pieces are collected and prepped for the craft making. All kinds of supplies are brought in for the exercises and games. The kids are going to have so much fun !

Update on our Forest School program! Due to numerous inquiries from the parents whose children were younger than 10, we decided to make 8 years old a minimum age requirement. The program is already half full, so please make sure you reserve a spot for your child ASAP, if you are interested.

Recently I was asked what type of breath to use or what kind of meditation to go through in order to improve your heart condition. My answer was - Legs. Legs have the biggest in size muscles of the body. Whenever you exercise your legs you exercise your heart. Studies show that by training your legs you train your heart. And don't worry that gyms are closed and you can't use the machines. Simple series of combination of lunge based yoga poses, balancing and squat based posi...tions will build strength, endurance and at the same time will nicely stretch your legs. All you need to know is proper technique and religious practice. Improper technique will do nothing in the best case scenario and in the worst injuries guaranteed. See more

How to gradually enter into abs routine. Abs are quite important part for our body. They guard the lower region of the spine in the abdominal area and at the same time support visceral organs. Also, if you have diagnosis with discs in low back or sciatica abs exercises have to be significantly modified for you. Here is how you do it safely https://www.facebook.com/1206530380/videos/10225212536319594/

And here is the Math in the Forest for smaller kids 7-9 years old!

Hidden Forest Studio 20.08.2020

#ForestCourses - what we did today :) In this lesson our measuring device was a foot. Not the foot that is in the real measuring system, but the foot of each child. They found a stick that was the exact length of their own foot and graphed the length of arm, leg, full body, head, toe and index finger. We ran and explored the forest. The trees that kids got introduced to were Canadian red cedar (very warm and soft bark), apple tree, hemlock and white eastern pine.... They learned the difference in the bark, needles and also saw mushrooms growing on an apple tree called coral mushroom. They learned the main rule in the forest - if you dont know - dont touch by any means. They now know Amanita (in Russian Muxomor) and know what eating of it leads to. We also found a huge White Eastern Pine and measured its crown in each childs length foot. They found out that measurement could be different for more than one reason and both of these reasons are correct: Foot length Place where they started measurement from The second reason led us to the fact North side of a crown of this tree is smaller than South side, which they graphed later with a chalk We started to explore the speed, basic leg anatomy and movements connected to the legs such as Moving with two legs tied to each other Moving with one leg only Moving with bending only one leg Moving with bending knees a lot They also want to do a homework with a mushroom, they want to find out if it is edible. #forestcourses #mathintheforest

Our courses in the Forest Yes, moms and dads, instead of discussing how bad it is to wear mask or whatever situation is happening we are teaching the kids how to always change any bad situation into mega beneficial. You can't even imagine how many variations went through my silver haired head! We are creating courses based on Ontario Curriculum, but through practice of different life skills. Watch for #forestcourses on our @Hidden Forest Studio page and register for the ones ...that are needed. I am creating them for the kids of 10-12 age, but sometimes kids younger or older join us. Here is the list of courses that we have so far: 1. Math in Sewing - Tuesdays 4-6 pm (Olena Tregubenko) 2. Survival Course - Sundays 11-2 pm (Joseph McCumber) 3. Music 4. English, Writing and Presentation See more

Yoga = Stretching. Yes or no? If you answer Yes and you follow it in your practice then expect your joints to loosen and weaken. Then people with extensive Yoga... experience tend to object saying that they have hyperextensive joints. Well, if you test these people you will simply find out that their joints are too loose and the muscles surrounding these joints are too weak. If you practice Yoga and your knees look like on the picture with red shorts, well , I would suggest you look a bit different at your Yoga practice and include some back leg strengthening such as chair pose, warrior 3 and Salabhasana Yoga is at 7:30 tonight inside of the studio See more
