Unbelievable how sweet apples get when you roast them in the oven! This apple sauce has only a little bit of what I call "baker's" grade maple syrup (thank you Blyth Creek Maple Farm ) to balance it out and it it soooo good! A great mid-winter treat for sure.

We will also deliver to Blyth, Walton, Belgrave, Clinton and Lucknow after 5 on Saturday February 13. If there are any other deliveries needed in areas close to these places, please ask. I had to buy a new flour sifter today at our local hardware store. I can't bring myself to use the one passed down to me from my grandma as it is now part of a collection that makes my heart full when I see it sitting in a discreet corner of my kitchen. It feels as if the wonderful cooks in our family (past and present) are cooking right along with me!

I love cabbage rolls, but cannot roll them for love nor money (it is an art!). But this "cabbage roll" casserole covers all the bases of a great cabbage roll. Add my peach relish and a few chili flakes and this is a wonderful October evening dinner. Happy weekend everyone.

Well, that's a wrap for us! Had a wonderful time at Nipissing Lodge this weekend catering for guests that we've had the pleasure of feeding for a couple seasons now. And bonus . . . we got to go fishing one more time (thank you Uncle Tim )! It was chilly but the fishing was good! Until next season . . .

September has always had more of a "new year" feel for me than the beginning of each actual year. It has been MANY years since we've done the back to school thing, but this time of year still feels like a "reset". Thinking of everyone who is entering into this season of new experiences and learning!

More experimenting! Peach relish! So simple, and a few red chili flakes in this batch make it a perfect condiment to go with this very locally grown chicken (I'm lucky my grand-daughters have that "farmer" gene in them!) When we get back to really knowing y'all can confidently plan catered events, there may be some new items on the menu!

The hot days of summer seem to have faded (temporarily) but the great experiences continue on ..........as does the good fishing!

TSF wants to express our appreciation for the Blake Family for their generosity and devotion in sponsoring the Outdoor Sports Camp held in July at Edge of Walto...n Challenge Course. In doing so they provided shirts for all of the kids who attended in support of the Learn-To-Ride-Day in memory of Mitch Blake. Well, this part of the summer is drawing to an end. Last days of "Little Bug" lunches at Edge of Walton Challenge Course. Always appreciate the opportunity to be part of great community initiatives that we have here in Municipality of Huron East, particularly with the great folks at Walton!

It's too bad that my photography doesn't look as good as it smells in my kitchen right now! Shredded turkey and pulled beef ready to go for sliders! Add a few more layers and these will be a yummy addition to some other "nibblies" for a lovely small meal dropped off for a family celebrating a wedding this weekend. Congratulations Mitch and Rachel!

The Lodge has been very busy this summer. We feel fortunate to have had many families visit creating lots of memories.!
