Highbury North Pet Hospital 24.10.2020

This is amazing. Luckily they helped the otter to regain it’s wild instincts and didn’t try to keep it. Btw,it’s against the law to keep native wildlife in captivity/ as pets

Theyve extended the fundraising window for the Ride for Farley for 1 more week til September 26th ...! Absolutely an awesome and helpful thing to do.. https://www.canadahelps.org//2020svp/page/dr-whitney-chin/ Please know of course you can always donate any time of the year to the farleyfoundation.org ). We will gladly and gratefully accept your online donations for another week! To those of you across the city and country ( yes in other provinces too!), clients, friends ...and family, WE say a huge thank you to your generosity and support. Your help goes a long way to help pets in need. Heres the link one last time if youre considering . These two cute dreamy eyed boys, (my boy Merlin and sweet Jackson ), as well as our neighbourhood turkeys are asking on behalf of the Farley Foundation . . DEER TICKS! As we move into fall weather, theyre still here.... Delphi went for a walk last week and a couple hours later, her family found this little deer tick on her face. They brought her in for us to remove it. Luckily shes on Nexgard spectra for ticks, fleas, heartworm , worms and mites. So....... the tick was already dead!!! 2 hours after her walk (we presume that she picked it up on her noon hour walk) . Quick kill of ticks. No Lyme will get through Even quicker kill with fleas Were so happy for Ms Delphi that her owners care enough to protect her. We cant do it without your help . They still need tick protection til it freezes

Have you ever wondered how big your puppy will be? This is a guide for approximate adult weight based on your puppys (lean) weight at a certain age. Remember, certain breeds are predisposed to joint and bone problems so you always want to keep them trim especially while growing so you dont test their genetic potential for those problems. Always do your growing pets body condition score weekly and adjust food accordingly

we still have to be careful. Unfortunately , I have personally come upon some people that think this is a hoax or that its not a great deal if you get infected. I bet you those people werent infected, sick or knew someone that was sick or died. Do we need to be mangled in a car accident to wear our seatbelts or stop driving drunk or texting and driving?

Pets are not just a reliable friend, but sometimes the consoler in chief in some peoples lives.

Highbury North Pet Hospital 11.06.2020

This is exactly what we have been informing our clients of. When we started to observe significantly higher tick numbers in 2017, I called the health unit and they had seen the same type of increase exactly at the same time. Please protect your pets and be watchful and careful with your family

Done! Almost 120 km (I underestimated the distance) to Stratford and back. Thanks to my friends Roman and Steve for taking part and enjoying the day . It was a great ride for a great cause. Never realized there were that many hills between London and Stratford though! Just need some Advil and rest. Not in shape! COVID19 has made it very busy at our hospital with many extra hours and short staffing with no time to train this year. Nevertheless, You can still donate to help pet owners through the Farley Foundation Thank you so much for your support https://www.canadahelps.org//2020svp/page/dr-whitney-chin/

We remember those who were lost on the 19th anniversary of 9/11 and the heroes and their legacies that live on ... including the canine heroes at Ground Zero, their handlers and veterinarians. Thank you.

Smart doggy! And talented too

Highbury North Pet Hospital 08.04.2020

Yes, lets not forget the sacrifices of service dogs. Some pay with their lives, whether police, military or search and rescue

Trying to map a route around London for tomorrows RIDE FOR FARLEY. Its 100 km. Hopefully with a break in the middle for food. Any suggested route? Must be paved roads and not heavily trafficked roads of course . Thanks for all your support over the years to help the less fortunate

So how do you help your cat be a cat indoors ??

Highbury North Pet Hospital 10.01.2020

This year, we are collecting donations for the Farley Foundation as I ride 100 km on the ride via the Canada helps link on our page. Please consider helping needy pet pet owners in a time of crisis . Thank you once again for your generosity

Highbury North Pet Hospital 01.12.2019

We still want to support those less fortunate , especially in these uncertain times. Dr chin will be riding 100 km to help raise funds for the FARLEY FOUNDATION on Saturday 12 September and would love your support. The FARLEY FOUNDATION helps support pet owners in need by funding emergency veterinary care for their pets. These are people who usually try to take care of their pets but are in need of assistance with an urgent medical or surgical problem. Its been difficult this year with the pandemic, short staffing and extra work to get time to train but we will participate. Rain or shine. Fit or not! The ride is open to everyone this year. Will post that link in another post. Thank you for your support https://www.canadahelps.org//2020svp/page/dr-whitney-chin/

Great tips for the summer

This handsome little guy was found the other day and was brought over to us for identification. No tags, no microchip. Didnt speak either (funny thing). Please microchip your pet. Tags fall off. Tattoos become illegible. Collars get taken off by owners for baths etc etc. Microchips stay. And they dont allow big brother control of your dog or cause cancer (2 myths we hear all the time). They save lives and reduce stress for your family to reunite them with you quickly. Luckily for this guy, the finder located the owners the second time they went around looking for them in the neighbourhood . Happy ending . Have a great weekend
