Fit Tip- WARM UP!!! as I approach 40 the need for warm-up and movement preparation is even more important in my workouts! This is essential piece that many people overlook, especially if you’re doing early morning workouts. I still remember in my teens and early 20s where I could just hop into a practice or a game and then run out of the gym and not even worry about cooling down. That’s not the case now!... get your blood flowing, get your joints lubricated, and get those muscles activated. Take 5 to 10 minutes at the beginning of your workouts, whether it is strength, running, or even just walking. 2 years ago today this nugget made his entrance to the world....and not the way I had hoped. My birth story is one that ended in a c-section so for all those moms out there who have a similar ending, I feel ya. Reflecting back to that day (actually the day before it all started) it all seems so vivid still. He is only 2 but I can’t help but wonder if the impact and emotion of that experience will be as strong when he’s 16 or 32! But I can thankfully say that I love my story... and want to keep those memories alive. I encourage all moms out there to tell your story with pride.
