Now is the time to support the local businesses who have supported this community.
If you're looking for a book for the entrepreneur in your life these may be just the ticket. Love Alison's work so I trust her recommendations (and you can even enter to win all the books!)
Love this tradition.
A very poignant point of view
Here's a cheerful little video of the Nova Scotia Christmas tree headed for Boston. It's nice to celebrate the good things.

We all can do small things to help others.....
It's Small Business Week. Unfortunately amidst the grind of the day to day many small business owners forget to prioritize planning for what will happen to the business if they are unable to run it (through death or disability). Here's a great, quick & easy read outlining the main considerations to protect your business and family.
Did you know that in some women's lifetime (anyone older than 91), they would not have been considered a legal person? This reminds me that it is critical for all of us to do our part to make sure the rights and freedoms we have put in place for peaceful co-existence as a society are not taken for granted, and that we all make an effort to speak out in decrying anyone who decides they want to trample these rights at will in a reckless vigilante way.
Anyone in need of a law abiding horse?
I am very proud to contribute $350 to this worthwhile grassroots effort by local Realtors Tara & Mike Bebee to help local families be able to afford Thanksgiving this year. Unfortunately, the number of families identified as being in need exceeds the number of gift cards they are able to purchase. If you find yourself in a position that you are interested in being a part of this initiative, please send me a message. #ItTakesAVillage.
See the Ability.
We all matter. And we all can do better every day to treat each other with the grace we deserve.
#LawyersNS Join CBA-Nova Scotia tomorrow September 30th for their webinar recognizing Orange Shirt Day. Originally an initiative of the St. Joseph Mission Resi...dential School Commemoration Project, Orange Shirt Day events are designed to commemorate the residential school experience, honour the healing journey of survivors and provide an opportunity to come together in the spirit of reconciliation. An excellent opportunity to be part of shaping the future of inclusiveness in Nova Scotia (who will be a leader for the rest of the country to follow)
Grey and gloomy, but no sign of Hurricane Teddy
Not all disabilities are visible. Be aware and be kind.
Amazing immaculately kept property. Lots of green space and water.
Happy to #shoplocal when we have such great options in the 'hood.
Our office is open again on an appointment only basis. All clients will be screened and must wear a mask at all times.
Today is my second day back in our physical office since we closed the doors on March 16th. Feels very strange to be here alone and to start the day by Lysol wiping every surface and distributing masks to each employee's work station in preparation for when we start seeing clients in person again. We are still working remotely for the time being but are getting prepared for when the government suggests it is safe to start back to the office. Initially we will start with vis...its by appointment only and masks will be required. In the meantime, we are pretty much full steam ahead (with the limitations imposed by the courts working on an essential services model). Stay safe everyone.
Haven't had time to dig into exactly how this will work for so many small business owners like me who are staying home to care for children, keeping staff on full payroll, but experiencing a huge drop in revenue due Covid and reduced working hours (due to childcare duties). Hope we don't fall through the cracks because we are not 'employees' but also are fighting hard to not actually close our doors.
