Pre-covid, regulars at a coffee shop like ours became a sort of family, especially when you see your enterprise as more than just a business. At Highland Grounds it is about caring for and about people and being more than just a place to get a really good cup of coffee. There are conversations, interactions and the building of a relationship - all the stuff we call Social Capital. So, when we learn of the death of a regular, we mourn the passing of a friend. Today we learned ...of the passing of one of our regulars who often came twice a day and over time became part of our family. As we told our past staff, they offered condolences and prayers to his family, and we all shed a tear or two contemplating our farewells ... Tonight we are saddened by the loss of our friend, but we carry his memory and are deeply appreciative of the many moments we shared with him ...
