Dear clients and friends, In recent days I have reached out to the AEF for clarification on the status of my work in this lockdown. Answers are unclear and vague, as equine body work has not been given clear direction by either AEF or the provincial government. Our current solution until further guidance is released is that I may work on existing Equine clients, but fully outdoors only, and socially distanced. Canine massage will resume after the lockdown.... Given winter conditions this may mean infrequent bookings at best, as I cannot massage in arctic temperatures, nor snowstorms, nor in the pitch black. I understand there may be frustrations from some with my choice to comply to the greatest extent possible with restrictions, so am extending my discounts (found in my previous post) to the end of January, giving the opportunity to still receive the discounts after the lockdown is complete. I just ask that you respect my decision on how to handle the coming 4 weeks. If you wish to book an appointment, please contact me and we can try to arrange something that fits within these guidelines. Shauna Wells, REMT

Full disclosure, I know these comparison photos are far from perfect; I should have squared the client up more and positioned myself more similarly for both photos. Regardless, in the top photo you can see a slight curve in the lumbar spine. Contracted muscles on the right side pulled the body of the vertebrae to the right, which forces the dorsal spinous processes to the left. Hopefully, this cute mare will feel more comfortable and more capable of bending through her body. Dorsal stripes sure are handy in my line of work!

This very talkative German Shepherd says there's nothing quite like falling asleep on momma's lap for a massage!

2021 Memberships!!! As some of you may know, one of our members is going through a scary and hard situation. Dana Murphy gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who... is a micro preemie. Dana is having to stay in Edmonton while her baby girl is in the Edmonton hospital. Dana and her family have always been some of our strongest supporters and now we want to support them. We have set our 2021 FSHS membership prices at $20 for individuals and $30 for families. However, as a fundraiser we are asking for $30 for individuals and $40 for families with the extra $10 going to Dana and her family. All fundraising money will be matched by FSHS to a max of $150. This fundraiser will run until December 10, then membership prices will resume as normal on December 11th. FSHS memberships gets you some great perks like being included in our emails, advanced entries, no admin fees and NEW THIS YEAR we will pay half of your parking fees if an event is held at the Hawker Pavilion in Fairview! Please help us support our fellow rider, horsewoman extraordinaire and amazing mom Dana Murphy.
