This acquisition was a result of the recent closure of Highland Helicopters. We have relocated one of our AStars to this new base as we continue to offer undisrupted service to our new and existing customers in the Nakusp area.... We are also proud to announce that the acquisition came with the hiring of existing base manager Mark Homis. Mark has been flying out of this base for 27 years and has a wealth of experience from flying in the Kootenay area. High Terrain is thrilled to welcome Mark to the team!! Big thanks to High Terrain Helicopters LTD. for the heli bump up to Mt Sollid (Burn and Beyond) We had a mega trail clearing session that would have been 2-3 da...ys without their donation of heli time to get our crew up there! (value of flight etc with our 4 person crew was $1154) We were able to clear all of Mt Sollid/Burn and Beyond and Upper Hitman/Hitman. Section of trail through the new burn is a little rough but overall the line is in great condition! Also thanks to volunteer swamper and local shredder Nate Atkins for coming along to help out (first heli flight!) and to Tom Atkins for picking up 4 soggy/tired dudes at the bottom when we were finished!
