I know it’s already Saturday, but I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss Female Founder Friday!! This week I was so lucky to connect with the super talented Robin Devine from the Lymph Balance Center here in Calgary. This rock star knew instinctively there was an incredible need here in the city for lymph drainage, so she went ahead and built a big, beautiful space. Even when people told her it was way too big!... And in that space she’s created an incredible community. One of the things that I admire most about Robin is her outlook on leadership. She knows that in order for her clients to feel the care and attention they deserve, that she needs her team to feel that same way first. Robin’s also got a great story of recovery. How many FB groups are you in? For real, do you even know? Do you see stuff pop up that adds nothing to your life and you find yourself simply ignoring every post from the group? Yeah, I feel the same way. I recently broke up with ALOT of FB groups and I discovered something, you have to tell why you're leaving the group.... At first I sat there looking through the list of options debating what to list as my reason, then it occurred to me, it doesn't matter! Guess what, we get to do whatever we want, so if the FB group doesn't add value it's time to say goodbye. In all aspects of our lives both business and personal we must unapologetically choose what works for US, not someone else. Stop allowing others to dictate your time and energy. Guard and protect what works and serves you best. You're worth it! Feeling frazzled? Let me fill your cup for a few mins on a quick inspiration call. You'll walk away with some value and you won't have to sit through an awkward pitch and pause at the end, promise.

Word of advice, don't send me a FB friend request or connection request and 5 minutes later say "hey girl, I have this group that is for xyz you should join" No, seriously, just STOP! You don't know the first thing about me, other than what you see on social media. I'm guessing you only know vaguely what I do, not who I am, what makes me unique, or even why I'd be worth getting to know. ... What I also know is I don't like to be lied to or mislead, so when I ask you about your group I expect an honest answer. Don't tell me it's for "empowered and beautiful women" but when I investigate it's a skincare group or for supplements. Listen, if you want to make real connections let go of the sham and just be upfront about it. I'm too busy and, so are you, so let’s not beat around the bush.
