If you currently enjoy our Public Fisheries or you’d like to have these fisheries available in the future, speak up now and remind our public officials of their stewardship responsibilities .
A disconnected Ottawa needs to wake-up and listen to all Canadians and do so with a degree of sincerity that each and every one of us deserves!
SAVE OUR BC PUBLIC FISHERY: Meet Jason, owner/operator of Bon Chovy Fishing Charters in Vancouver, who started fishing with his grandfather when he was five yea...rs old. An avid environmental steward, Jason is concerned about BC’s public fishery and what continued closures, that aren't supported by data, could mean for coastal communities and families like his. Please like and share this video and contact Minister Jordan to express your concerns! #RealRecoveryPlan #SaveOurBCPublicFishery #ScienceNotPolitics #ifishihuntivote
Take a moment and review the letter below, it's a start, a beginning. It's wonderful to have elected officials publicly supporting the interests of their constituents. If you're so inclined go a step further and determine which members of Parliament opted not to sign the correspondence to Minister Jordan. Those British Columbia MP's choosing to withhold their support should be asked Why! It's most important to note that supporters of this letter cross Party lines and simply request that rational management be applied. It's becoming abundantly clear who gives a Rat's Patootie about the Public Fishery and who doesn’t.
After some concern about local saltwater chinook fishing, this has been clarified by DFO today. https://notices.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fns-sap/index-eng.cfm
