Highwood Lions Music Festival 30.08.2020

The Highwood Lions Music Festival wishes to announce, with regret, that all 2020 Festival classes scheduled March 16-April 3 including our April 4 concert are c...ancelled. As a Festival, we recognize our role in supporting our province's efforts and the AHS protective measures regarding COVID19. Our Festival Board is very grateful for your support and understanding as we do our best to be wise and mindful given the complications and challenges we are facing during these days and weeks. Your well-being, safety and your continuing success as music educators, parents, and young artists is our main priority. Festival registrants may donate their fees to the Highwood Lions Music Festival (please note we are unable to issue a tax receipt) or request a refund (minus any late fees applied) by contacting [email protected] . Please continue to refer to our FaceBook page and website www.highwoodmusicfestival.com for further updates and announcements. Despite our sadness regarding this announcement, we will look forward to having you with us on or around March 8-27, 2021. Sincerely, Your HLMF Board

Highwood Lions Music Festival 13.08.2020

Dear Friends of HLMF, We are planning to go ahead with Week One of our Festival with the guidance of Alberta Health in mind. Because the COVID19 prevention measures are changing daily, we will post any further notifications on our website and FaceBook page.... To protect you, your family, our performers and audience members, and those who are vulnerable in our communities, please continue to use the same practices recommended for protecting against all respiratory illnesses: Wash your hands often and well Avoid touching your face, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands. If you have returned from travel outside of the country, please stay home Avoid close contact with people who are sick Practice social distancing Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched Stay at home and away from others if you are feeling ill When sick, cover your cough and sneezes and then wash your hands Call Health Link, at 811, if you are concerned about your symptoms or believe you may be at risk. At the Festival venue, hand sanitizer will be on site and its use will be required by all entering the building. Soap and paper towels will be on hand in washrooms. The pianos will be cleaned frequently with an especially appropriate cleaning product. If our Board members or the adjudicator determines that a participant, parent or audience member is not in compliance with current AHS measure as indicate above, they will be told to go home.
