An amazing feat for Amica Swan Lake 32 residents and 26 team members recently cycled 2,700 kilometres for Terry Fox! They pedalled portable exercise machines ...called Cubii ellipticals, which can be used at a safe distance in our activity centre or in our residents’ suites. A true example of the sense of purpose and belonging shared by Amica residents, the challenge honoured Terry Fox while boosting fitness and camaraderie. Residents continue to motivate each other to ride and come down daily, says Kristen Carson, Life Enrichment Coordinator at Amica Swan Lake. Even those who don’t typically come to exercise classes have been enjoying the machines. A post-tour celebration with an ice cream truck and music made the accomplishment that much sweeter!
