A short story for you..... By Big Rick..... I am a drummer. Friday, March 6 2020 I played my last show before the quarantine. The show was magical. Both the band and the crowd were so into it. At the end of the night the crowd at the Blackhorse pub yelled for an encore which we did with smiles on our faces. Two of us had to work early in the morning so started to tear down right after that song ended. The crowd yelled and begged for More music. My singer was nice enough to pl...ay guitar and sing a few songs while we broke down the equipment. If I would’ve known what I know now I would’ve played until the sun came up.....we had a few songs that we could have jammed out. I miss playing music greatly. There’s a feeling that you get that is such a high. The camaraderie between your bandmates is awesome, and you’re working as a team. I went to work the next morning not knowing and then seven short days I would lose my job. My job that I work in the day plus the job I love the most as a musician. We both know it’s not really a job, it’s a hobby, I joke to my wife that after being a musician for over 20 years that I’ve made hundreds of dollars lol. Just know that in the future singers will sing, guitar players will shred, bass players will always be awesome, and Drummer’s will be sweaty. I hope to see you all very soon. It will be a different, new and hopefully improved world when we play our first show. Trust me when I say the magic will happen again........ See more
