Job duties include: * Greeting and seating guests * Introducing new guests to the Game Library and Pottery painting processes * Becoming familiar with, recommending and providing basic instruction to guests on popular board games * Hosting private bookings i.e. team building, staff parties, birthdays, etc. by leading groups through game/pottery selection and instruction * Taking and preparing food and drink orders while maintaining strict health and safety standards (Responsible Beverage Service certificate required) * Ensuring that excellent service and a good environment contribute to a great guest experience * Maintaining inventory and cleanliness of bar and cash area * Maintaining game library (cleaning, organizing, quarantining, re-shelving) * Cleaning and sanitizing tables/chairs, dishes, floors, counters, appliances, bathrooms, etc. Candidates MUST be available to work every evening Tuesday to Saturday. I can't be the only one who thinks Discover Charlottetown is doing a bang-up job of rolling with the punches on behalf of small biz in Charlottetown. They always seem to have such big beautiful ideas and even though they've faced some pretty challenging obstacles this year, they've still managed to keep the festive spirit alive, and so many of us benefit from their efforts. Just a thought. Thanks team!

Well this sucks, for all kind of reasons. Yesterday’s announcement was not what any of us wanted to hear, and we know it has caused a lot of anxiety for families, individuals and businesses. We also know that Islanders want to (and will) do their part, so we are confident that this is a temporary measure that will allow us to get back to our new normal as soon as possible. We are working on a Plan B for Hive and Hollow, in the meantime please note the following changes in ...operations: We will be closed for in-room dining/gaming/painting for the duration the restrictions. All Christmas staff and private bookings will be rescheduled/cancelled/deposits refunded. Trivia will be put on hold (we don’t have any immediate plans for online trivia). Open hours will change, details to be announced. (for pottery, game and gift card pickups). Online game sales will continue, further details to be announced. We might try adding a few take-out options, depending on logistics. To be announced. We recognize that this will be especially difficult on retail, health and private/public service providers so we wish them safety and good health - both physical and mental - in the coming days. There are a lot of great people putting in a lot of great work under extraordinary circumstances this year and we just happen to have a $150 gift card on the tree. Let’s pass it along to an Island charity or non-profit organization in appreciation There are many ways it could be used; maybe an employee or volunteer deserves a night out, maybe a club could use some board games for the social room, or maybe there is a family out there that could really use a little escap...e. We aren’t fussy - the gift certificate can be used for anything we offer. And it doesn’t expire so it can be redeemed whenever the recipient is most comfortable using it. Tag/comment the organizations that you would like to highlight (we know there are lots so there’s no limit) - we will draw randomly for the gift certificate on Thursday December 10.
