November is Woman Abuse Prevention Month. This year has been a particularly difficult year and we have seen a massive increase in the incidences of violence against women in Ontario. Shelters across the province simply don’t have the resources they need to be there for the women who need them. Last year in Ontario, every 11 days a woman or child was killed by a man known to them, with the majority being their current or former intimate partner. And the majority of shelters... in Ontario can’t even cover their basic operating costs without turning to fundraising. This is not okay. But right now, you can help. Please visit wrappedincourage.ca or text the word COURAGE to 41010 right now to donate $5 to $25. Every dollar raised today will be shared with participating shelters to help women right here in Ontario today.
