Hockey 4 Youth received a $25 donation from an 11 year-old boy named Eben. He is passionate about hockey and wanted other kids to be able to experience the game he so deeply loves. Eben has inspired us and we want to show him the power of his donation! So today, with the support of Eben and his Dad, we are announcing the launch of a new fundraising initiative called #Campaign125. We want 100 people to pledge $25/month to Hockey 4 Youth so we can show Eben the ripple... effect his generosity! Let's make Eben and our Hockey 4 Youth teens proud! Click the link in our bio to donate and be a part of #Campaign125 #Hockey4Youth #TheOnlyBarrierShouldBeTheBoards #NewComerYouth #HighPriorityYouth #HockeyLife #BreakingBarriers #CG44 See more

Jemila Jreivine is a 17 year old Mauritanian-born hockey player who immigrated to Canada in 2014 with her family. Jemila is a participant of the Hockey 4 Youth Ottawa girls program! Jemila got introduced to H4Y when @moe_nose visited with her newcomer class at Ridgemont High School. She immediately jumped at the opportunity to play ice hockey as she had never skated before and always wanted to learn.... Jemila has fallen in love with hockey after only 1 year in the program. Her favourite part of the program is playing hockey with my friends, playing in a team, working together, it’s a lot of fun! Jemila has a video blog, has participated in Zoom calls with NHL, NWHL and CWHL hockey players and she also lays claim to being the first Mauritanian girl to play ice hockey! Jemila can't wait to return to the ice and once she graduates high school, she wants to volunteer with H4Y as a mentor to younger girls. In the meantime, stay tuned to H4Y for more announcements about Jemila's upcoming role at H4Y! #Hockey4Youth #TheOnlyBarrierShouldBeTheBoards #NewComerYouth #HighPriorityYouth #OttawaHockey #NHL #NWHL #CWHL

For this #WomensWednesday we are shining the light on Toronto-born designer, Aurora James. Aurora James began a campaign that asks Canadian retailers to make the commitment that 15% of their inventory come from BIPOC-owned companies. Her work is important because its paving the way for more equitable buying and opportunities for under represented communities in the business world. It also comes at an important time where BIPOC businesses are disproportionately negatively imp...acted as a result of the pandemic. Aurora is #breakingbarriers and is an inspiration to our girls and boys here at the Hockey 4 Youth! #WomensWednesday #Equity #Equality #supportbipocbusinesses #supportsmallbusiness #supportblackbusiness #Hockey4Youth #TheOnlyBarrierShouldBeTheBoards #NewComerYouth #highpriorityyouth
Happy Tuesday Everyone! For this #TeachTuesday, we are throwing it back to the A Day on Bay which was presented by the Jr. Economic Club of Canada. A Day on Bay was a field trip that gave students hands on experience in Toronto’s Financial District, while... teaching them the fundamentals of finance, budgeting, financial services, and digital literacy. We are grateful for our continued relationship with @economicclubca and are looking forward to continuing with participation in the "Mindfulness and Money" series when it returns. #Hockey4Youth #TheOnlyBarrierShouldBeTheBoards #EconomicClubofCanada #NewComerYouth #HighPriorityYouth #TheOnlyBarrierShouldBeTheBoards #BreakingBarriers #FinancialLiteracy #EmpoweringYouth #LeadershipSkills #PublicSpeaking

Our #mondaymotivation is @naomiosaka! She fought back to win the @usopen title on Saturday after losing the first set; something that hasn’t been done in in 26 years! ... Equally remarkable is that the Champion used her platform to bring awareness to #BlackLivesMatter. She wore the names of victims of police brutality on her masks prior to each of her 7 matches. The point is to make people start talking. - Naomi Osaka Naomi is half Haitian and half Japanese! She represents the beautiful BIPOC community as a role model to us and our newcomer/high priority youth. #theonlybarriershouldbetheboards #hockey4youth #saytheirnames : Frank Franklin - Associated Press Matthew Stockman - Getty Images @onherturf See more
