Dear NMHA Family, We are certainly living in an extremely challenging times. We would like to thank all of our membership for their patience and understanding as we navigate hockey during Covid 19. You have all done a tremendous job of adapting and following what seem to be, at times, very difficult rules and procedures. We are extremely grateful. Yesterday, NMHA was made aware of a single confirmed case of Covid 19 in the U8 division. We have a plan in place, which is compli...ant with VIaSport, BC Hockey and VIHA directives. We are working closely with VIHA and contact tracing has been completed. Island Health has, or will contact anyone who has potentially been affected. Please follow the instructions of Island Health should they contact you. Because our players health and safety is at the forefront of any decisions we make, NMHA has decided to suspend the U8 division for the next 10 days (ending November 25th). In the interim we must ask all families in the division to additionally not attend any outside training times. Because the U8 division is self contained in their own cohort, at this time there is no need to suspend further divisions. Of course, should we receive new information steps will be taken immediately. We thank you all for your understanding in this matter. Again, we are working closely with Island Health. They have been extremely helpful through this season and we trust that they will do what is required to keep everyone safe. If any of you have any questions about this please direct them to myself.
