Since mushrooms are over 90% wate...r, traditional freezing processes can ruin their texture, meaning they will be watery and soggy when thawed. Sautéeing mushrooms before freezing helps to maintain their taste and texture as cooking reduces their water content! When you are ready to use your frozen mushrooms just add them directly to your chilis, soups, stews or casseroles and continue to heat until warmed through. Enjoy!
