Holiday mini sessions were such a hit last year and I completely booked out so I thought I'd get an early start on bookings. Sessions will be held the month of November. If you want first dibs at a session comment below the dates in November that would work best for you!

The life of Holly - Part 3 **This one is a long one** I often get asked how I became a photographer or if it was always my plan and I have to laugh. No photography was not always the plan, although from day one I did want to work in the wedding industry.... I went to school for public relations where I was required to take photography and editing courses. I wanted to drop out in first year to pursue event planning but my parents wanted me to at least complete a work placement before quitting. I finished out my degree and my last co-op placement brought me to the federal government in Ottawa. I really liked it there and wanted to stay. I applied to an internal job but would have to leave my student position upon graduation, making me no longer elgible unless I returned to school. This pushed me to apply to my Masters in Infratructure Protection and International Security. I was accepted! That same week I found out I was given the full time position and would no longer be required to return to school. But as life would have it, the university offered me a full scholarship. I couldn't choose between both of these amazing opportunities so I pursued both full time (yes I'm nuts and no I did not have much freedom for 2 years). With 1 semester left in my masters, my husband's job brought us to Saskatchewan. Although my masters became super unrelatable, I did return to Ottawa to complete the necessary courses and graduate. After that I was left with the question - what do I do with my life? I worked at a Cafe for a bit until I saw an ad on social media of someone looking for a photographer. I thought about how I really liked photography and it would be a good hobby, so I too posted on social media looking for families that would let me practice with them. The response was overwhelming and I ended up booking paid clients. Something was missing. I knew it was the wedding industry I wanted to work in but how do you even get started? Well I jumped in the deep end. I booked myself a booth at the wedding show, was honest of my experience level and had 12 fantastic couples put their faith in me. Getting to know me - part 2: I am a Saskatchewan import. I was born and raised in Nova Scotia. I will always be an East Coast girl at heart but I do love the Praries. I met my hubby at age 15 and started dating him at 19. By 21 we were taking on Ottawa together and by 23 had moved our lives to Saskatchewan. ... Although living away from our family has been very difficult, we are both avid travellers and moving was another adventure. Living on the western part of the country has allowed us to visit the Rockies, Yukon and Alaska. We hope to visit Hawaii and Indonesia after Covid is under control. . . I have a lot of new followers lately so I thought I would put together a few posts for you all to get to know the lady behind the lens. Today we will start with the most important part of me - my family! I am a wife to the most supportive husband and a mother to two beautiful little girls. My oldest, Adeline, is my blue eyed, curly haired, wild child. At almost 2 years old, she is so smart and loving. The newest addition to our family is our little bug Ivy. She is only three... weeks old. She sleeps a lot . The days are busy. Full of laughs, tantrums and lots of love. I think one of the reasons that I am so bad at posting on my social media is that I never know what to write as the caption. I find I can't sum up my awesome couples into a few words and I think that the photos speak more than anything I can write. Less than 5 weeks until my second little love is due to arrive. With that being said, I will not be accepting bookings beyond July 12th and will return to work in November. I hope to work with you either in the coming weeks or upon my return. Wish me luck as I venture into the world of being a mom of two!!

I can't wait to capture Darrienne and Mitch's wedding next summer. Their family property where the ceremony will be held is so unique and beautiful, just like this couple.

The spirit and passion of our small town never seizes to amaze me. Although graduation looks a little different this year, this evening the communities of Fosston, Rose Valley, and Archerwill showed our 2020 graduates just how proud of them we are. They say it takes a village to raise a child and you guys have one hell of a village. ... Congratulations RVS class of 2020!!!

I interrupt your news feed to bring you one gorgeous mama

Let's get real for a second: motherhood doesn't always look like this. It's messy and frusturating, but it is always filled with love. I know I am personally struggling to entertain a 1 and a half year old (while 26 weeks pregnant) every day while we can't see anyone or go anywhere but it has definitely made me a more creative mom. Tell me all the positive things that have come to your life because of this pandemic!

I have had a few requests, but I will not be participating in the #frontporchproject. I would like to keep my family and community safe during this crisis.

I am going through my work and picking out my favourite photos from this year to submit to the annual International Shoot & Share photo contest. This has got to be one of my favourite pictures I have ever taken.

I know this is a stressful time for many brides, as it is for many photographers and other small businesses. There is nothing any of us can do to provide peace of mind during these times of uncertainty, but know that I will do anything possible to help make these changes less stressful. Deposits for any type of session that have been booked with me between now and September can be transfered to an alternate date. Although summer 2021 is starting to fill up, I will do everyt...hing I can to accomodate those affected by Covid-19.
