A poplar forest is growing on my canvas

Just painting some pretty colors this morning. I'm planning some Aspen tree paintings for a fun change.

From Maurice Field, British Artist, 1905-1988, who taught alongside William Coldstream at The Slade; taught the likes of Patrick George.

I was lamenting that I was no good at painting scenery so my critic said, "you could practice, Mom." Maybe he's heard that before? So yesterday I practiced. I'm pretty pleased with this effort and my 'critic' had encouraging words.
