21st of February is known internationally as International Mother Language Day, chosen because of the tragic yet catalysing events that transpired on that day in 1952, in Bangladesh. A demand to practice linguistics and cultural right which led to a movement where shots were fired and many students died just because we Bangladeshis, wanted to speak in our mother tongue, Bangla.
