I got a call with an automated recording about my hydro going to be cut off. It claimed to be from London Hydro and that they wanted me to call 1-800-957-4169. This is a scam - I contacted London Hydro and the person that I spoke with said that they had a warning on their website about it already. I have taken a picture of it and I'm sharing it here to help protect our customers and their families.

Please be aware that one of our competitors is calling around offering "Free" a/c checks. Do not be taken in by this scam. They just want to look at your a/c and then tell you something is wrong with it so that you will buy a new one. If you are one of our customers or with another company and you routinely get your a/c maintenance tell them "no I already have someone who takes care of it for me". I just had a customer call me to ask if this was a serious call or not. I told her not to deal with them and I thanked her for calling to check. I don't want any one out there to be taken advantage of.

Trouble Shooting Tips for if your a/c isn't working. 1. check your outdoor unit to make sure that it's clean and free from dirt & debris. 2. check the batteries on your thermostat and if need be change them. 3. check your furnace filter to make sure that it's clean and change it if it's dirty. 4. try turning off the breaker for the a/c and turn it back on, this will re-set your system.... 5. if your lines are frozen turn off your a/c to let them thaw and book an appointment to have your system looked at. Hi it's Jamie - I just got a fraudulent call from someone claiming to be from London Hydro. They asked me if I got the notice to cut off the hydro and I said no. They gave me a phone number to get it sorted out 1-866-870-1250 and they called me from 1-519-6907. I don't trust these kinds of phone calls and I spoke with someone at London Hydro and they confirmed that it was a fraud call. Please don't fall for this new scam.

Hi it's Jamie again - John and I talked about it this morning and our office is going to be closed to the public. If any of our customers need to make a payment this can be done via cheque, e-transfer or Visa/Master card over the phone. Special arrangements can be made for debit payments. John will be doing emergency calls and if at all during this time someone needs a new furnace; we will be available to do installations. This is until further notice. Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.

Hi it's Jamie again - John and I talked about it this morning and we have decided that our office and showroom will be closed on Fridays for the next 2-4 weeks. For any customers that want to come in to pay or to buy furnace filters I will be here on Monday thru Thursday from 8:30 am to 5 pm. John will still be available for emergencies and can be reached at our office phone number 519-672-0400 after business hours Monday thru Thursday and all the time on Friday to Sunday.

Hi it's Jamie - we are open during the Covid-19 crisis. John will still be taking care of our customers if they have any HVAC issues in their home as this is considered to be an essential service. I am still in the office to answer the phone and to receive payments that come in. If this changes, I will post it on here.

Spring is coming; so now is the perfect time to have your furnace checked over to make sure that it's in good working order for when a/c season gets here.

Hi it's Jamie here - I just had an interesting conversation with a customer regarding her insurance company telling her that she should replace her 15 year old hot water tank. She asked me what I would do if I was in her place. I said that I would call the insurance company back and ask them if they would accept a letter from my HVAC technician if he were to check it over and deem it to be ok. If they will accept this then I would have it inspected and send them a letter fr...om the HVAC company. If they won't accept this then I would weight out the pros and cons of staying with Reliance and having them to install a new tank or have my HVAC technician install a new one and not rent anymore. I asked her to keep in touch because I want to make sure that our customer is being taken care of properly. I let her know that lots of our customers are opting to own their hot water tank instead of renting. I hope that I was able to help her or anyone who might read this post.
