Did you know... Digital Registration is still open! Some classes are full and closed for registration, but there are still lots with some room left! We will still announce an in-person registration to be held soon, but would like to get as many done digitally as possible to reduce foot traffic at the in-person date. Tap appreciation post: We are so excited about being able to offer tap at HDC again this year! We were devastated to hear we were losing the lovely Miss Morgan after our fabulous season with her last year, but we wish her all the best on her new job and adventure down in southern Ontario! We will miss her dearly, but she has assured me she will always feel like a part of the Homegrown Fam, and will cheer us on from afar, just as we will do for her! ... When Miss Katherine approached us about teaching tap this season it was like the stars had aligned just right! An opportunity for us to continue with tap, with the new perspective of a different teacher?! Katherine and HDC are a match made in heaven Many were nervous about trying tap last season (myself included!), but once we got our shoes laced up, and some good tunes bumping, we realized what a fun part of dance we’d been missing out on all along! That stuff takes STAMINA - physical, but mental as well! Tap feels like a brain game at times, with all the combinations of sounds that you’re trying to make, with just your two feet! There is so much more to it than we realized, and it’s addicting! I find myself tapping while I peruse the grocery store all the time now! Also, our calves, feet, and booties got SO strong. It was a real feeling of accomplishment at the end of every class. That being said, we want these classes to fill so that we can run them, and make the most of our opportunity of having Katherine in the studio! Tap classes this season are Tuesday Evenings, for Junior, Intermediate/Senior, and Adult age groups. If you need shoes and don’t want to order on your own, I can place a bulk order for shoes $50-$75 through my wholesale dance program I’m a part of, or I may even have a used pair at the studio I can sell you! Digital Registration is now open to the public! So excited to hear from the new dancers that will be a part of our 3rd Season at HDC! I’d like to amend the explanation of the new program: Advanced Recreational I previously posted stating it was only for dancers that had danced with HDC before. I’d like to change that to more of a suggestion rather than a mandatory criteria! If you are a new dancer that believes a more serious and structured class would suit you better, by al...l means please give advanced rec a try As of this morning, classes that are nearly full are the following... -Senior Tentative Competitive Hip Hop -ALL Intermediate Tentative Competitive Classes -Mini Advanced Rec Jazz/Musical Theatre (once we reach full capacity for a class, a wait list will be started Incase of any drop-outs, or the possibility of another class being added to accommodate! So even if the class you wanted becomes full, please still inquire so we can start a wait list for you )
