I know we're all focused on those most at-risk as the weather cools off (yes, that's an understatement), but let's also try to keep in mind the energetic and devoted men and women - staff & volunteers - who do their very best to help others at this time of year. And yes, some of those worthy people are also lining up at the food bank, sacrificing their own comfort for the health of our entire city. We know who you are - hang in there.

Well it's mighty cool here at HAC Central in downtown Calgary today - makes me think of all those people without a warm place to curl up tonight. For heaven's sake, stay warm Calgary!

My thanks to the 2 young journalism students from the always-awesome Mt. Royal U. They came out on a chilly night, when everyone else who had booked simply didn't show up, and took a walk with Gary & Susan - 2 of HAC's great Tour Guides. Really happy to see the impact these wonderful people had - Night Tours are on hiatus till March 2012, but the effects keep spreading...

Great news for Albertans - hats off to the organizations (you know who you are) working so hard to help Calgarians struggling to recover from homelessness! (Thanks for your support, Doug - we need to do coffee again soon!)
