While there's nothing happening during lockdown at the club, here's some great prototype photography to enjoy. Reg Button was a member of HOMES from 1952 on-and-off until 1973. His photos have been published in a Morning Sun book and various magazines, as well as on-line. He photographed around Hamilton and the Niagara Peninsula, so right in the area (and era) HOMES models.

Apparently Boxing Day saw CNR invade the CASO...

HO Model Engineers Society 29.09.2020

We have just been informed that the Board of the Eva Rothwell Centre (our home) has decided to close the Centre until at least April 6 as part of the effort to contain the coronavirus, CO-VID 19. This means we will have no access to the club room or layout until then. We'll let you know when we can re-open!

New Year's Day at HOMES - CNR sneaks in... emerging from Hunter St tunnel, past MacNab Presbyterian and onto the freight bypass at Hunter St Station. (Various giants stumble into the shot...) https://vimeo.com/382902938

From HOMES' Christmas Open House, CNR fans have hijacked the TH&B with a triple header - 3 locos under independent control, not consisted. CNR Mikado 3250 leading GTW 3708 and 3739, 30+ cars and a van across King St in Welland, past the Station Hotel and the CASO station. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj27HoAp3fU

Double-headed Mikados (CNR 3250 & GTW 3739) with 30+ cars and the van climb the Niagara Escarpment past Stoney Creek Station and Devil's Punchbowl on the HOMES layout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rD5T6EA9-pw

A pair of Mikados (CNR 3250 & GTW 3708) run through Welland on the CASO. Just a short train for this test run (the locos are not consisted - each has its own crew). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYyWLD4UyZk

Loco 51 where are you? #51 was at its post in Aberdeen North Yard on Saturday during the layout tour, but didn't show up for its shift at Tuesday evening's operating session. If you see a Kato NW-2 custom-painted as TH&B 51, please tell it the HOMES club wants it back.... If you see it for sale, be suspicious.

No snow for the Hamilton & District Layout Tour THIS SATURDAY, November 2. [EDIT: Can't count to 4...] Lex Parker's O-scale D&RGW is one of FOUR O-scale layouts on the tour (Lex's On3, Craig Webb's On3, Dave King's On30, and the Hamilton Model Railway Club's O-scale standard gauge).
