So I have been sitting on this for the past week and finally decided to write about an incident that often happens to me when I am painting. Meet my Kids also known as my boundaries. Why do I call them my boundaries? Let me explain. These are the two guys that I leave behind when I go to work on the weekends. If you do not already know this I am also a full-time teacher Monday to Friday. So that means that often I am working 7 days a week. This means that any extra time tha...t I have in my life I am running home to spend with them. Why does this matter? CLOSING THE LINE. When I close the line I always make sure to give fair warning that this is happening. I never close the line on those that have been waiting and turn people away when my time is up. I have a system. I will often look at the line and calculate how much time it will take to paint the remaining kids. I then give each child that will be painted a dot on their hand because even if I go over my time there those people that have waited I am going to paint them because they waited. Then I turn my sign around that says; "CLOSED. Please do not join the line. See you next time." Closing the line is never fun for anyone but it has to be done otherwise I would be there forever. I do not want to make your little one cry or disappoint them In fact that is the last thing that I want to do. However I often get asked; "Well can't you do just one more? They really want it and will be upset." I have even had people yell at me believe it or not telling me I was a "terrible person" because I refused to paint their child after I have closed the line. I am human. I am a mother. I have my own kids waiting for me at home that I miss dearly. I need to get home to them. It's always about getting home to them. :) Don't get me wrong I absolutely love what I do and I am not complaining. I just want people to be aware because sometimes we forget. It happens. Face painting allows me to make connections, meet people, create smiles, be creative. I love, love, love it! I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of me and my small business. I am thankful every day for the awesome positive support that you give.

This little girls birthday party was the second birthday party I ever did! So nice to reconnect after 7 years as I paint at her little sisters birthday!!!! Truly awesome!!!!
