Hi there, I decided it's about time I introduce myself on here and let you meet the person behind camera! My name is Karis, and here's a few fun facts about me! I grew up on a farm in Central Alberta and participated in caring for many different types of animals. I love fruit! So much so that I was called a fruit fly by my family on a not uncommon basis. Currently my favorite fruit is dragon fruit.... I had a pet rooster name Mr. Fredrickson as a kid. Since a very early age if there was any kind of animal that was hurt, abandoned, or in a bind I'd do my darnedest to help, raise, or care for them as the situation called for. Some of those critters included a wild duck who lived in our bathtub, a great horned owl, a fawn who was stuck in a boggy slough, different songbirds, mice, calves, kittens. I play the piano, violin, guitar, ukulele, and like to tinker around with a bunch of other instruments like a mandolin, viola, djembe, banjo, and penny whistles. I have been fascinated by the breeding and genetic world since I was very young. When I was a kid I had my own little flock of bantam chickens that I bred/hatched chicks from and I even wrote up a genealogy tree of all our farm cats! Climbing trees, hiking in the mountains, and riding are some of my favorite outdoor activities! I am quite introverted but I enjoy public speaking. Paradoxical, right? I love learning new things and sharing what I know with others! So there you go, a few tidbits about me!
