If you look at the map near the end of the video we are the lone red dot in central Saskatchewan. We've seen lots of use of our hen houses which contributes to healthy mallard populations. Last year with it being as dry as it was in our area we did notice a drop in use as lots of wetlands that previously held water had dried up.

Yesterday we saw the first snow geese flying over our place and spotted a pair of mallards for the first time this spring and today we had a snow storm come through and everything is frozen and white! Went from a nice warm spring day back to winter! Its good to know that despite our current worldwide situation with COVID-19 mother nature continues on with its natural ebb and flow. We're doing our part on minimizing the spread and practicing social isolation and I hope that everyone else is staying home and staying healthy!

Out maintaining the numerous Delta Waterfowl hen houses the past few weekends. Beautiful day out today but came across several squashed / flattened hen houses. Moose love to use these as scratching posts and deform the nests. Not many nests used this year as many were high and dry.

We've had a fairly mild winter with only one cold spell. Have seen a few Canada Geese flying around the river & city but I don't imagine it will be long before they are out all over the farmland!
