I’ve always believed this. You cannot go along with what you do not believe in simply because it’s easiest and everyone else fits into that mold. I’ve walked away from relationships and people even when it was so bloody painful, because I knew it was the right thing to do. Looking back I don’t regret any of it, I’m so grateful for that little voice deep down inside saying it’s not right...stepped through that fear, and just trusted.... I’ve always thought critically for myself, tried many things and failed too, questioned everything if my spider sense went off even a little, and made decisions I knew were right, even if it cost me a lot. For many women when asked that question, they think about it, and then say years ago. Menopause symptoms can start around the age of 42. In Chinese medicine that is the normal age range of when things can begin to shift, unless medically induced and then again at 49. Your health going into this time usually dictates how this transition will go for you. How is your health and wellness? ... How is your weight and fitness levels? How are you managing your stress? Are you burnt out? Many women acknowledge they are estrogen dominant or have zero progesterone, zero estrogen or no testosterone. But what causes those things to go out in the first place? We are treating the symptoms, NOT the cause. For myself that’s when noticeable changes kicked in 42-43 years of age. My periods changed, heavier flow and major cramping. For years I suffered through it thinking it was normal. It’s not. I had major imbalances. So I started digging and researching for myself. This is my breakfast today!! I do not eat low fat!!! I do not exercise endlessly. Who has the time or can be bothered?!? Reducing your calories and exercising more is a broken model!!! They have known since 1995 that it doesn’t work, but we still believe it, it is an insidious belief in our society and it is damaging us all. Throw in the hormone changes of menopause and you have a perfect storm! ... What if by learning how to balance these hormones you might eliminate or really reduce your symptoms altogether? What if we all learned that these hormones being in balance PRIOR to menopause could eliminate symptoms all together and we would sail through no problem? These hormones are no estrogen or progesterone or testosterone. They are little fish in the pond. We need to go after the big fish!! Would you share that information with your daughters and nieces and friends so they could avoid all this suffering? Well that’s my mission. As the ladies in the Menopause Manifesto test group are continuing to do fantastic, one of the main staples in my program is my recipe for homemade #bonebroth! Sometimes we just need that down time. As women we spend so much time trying to keep it together for everyone else, we are writing cheque’s on an emotional bank balance we do not have. Make time for snuggling in bed, reading a book, locking the door and having a bath and don’t come out unless there is blood spilled and in a carpeted area Do your best to recharge when you can!
