Exciting day at Hoop's Honey. We have new bees coming in from New Zealand. They have landed in Toronto and are waiting to clear customs. I hope their paperwork is in order. Should be able to pick them up around 5 pm. Then home and put them in their new hives.
Checking one of our bee yards in Oro-Medonte township. It's a beautiful day, the bees have found a pollen source. You can see the pollen on their legs.
The 1st wildflowers have emerged and the bees have found them.

A new work table for the honey house. I built this as a work bench for my woodshop. It was decided it was too nice for that. I still don't have a work bench.
6C (40f) the beekeeping season has started. Today I checked and fed pollen at our home yard. Feeding pollen now, keeps them going till spring and gets the queen laying. We had 1 dead hive out of 12 at home. 14 more to check.
