One of the biggest questions a person can ask us: how do I switch my dog to raw? Let's do a quick breakdown of what we recommend, why we recommend it, and how... we recommend starting the transition. What we recommend for the transition to a #PerfectlyRaw diet: Ground Turkey - Bone In Or Ground Chicken Backs Why we recommend them: These two products are simple, ground, single protein options that lack organ meat; this allows the pet’s digestive tract to more easily adjust to processing real, raw food. Starting with a product like one of these two helps your pup get used to the new texture and diet, without giving them too many ingredients to process. How we suggest starting the transition: Use one of these products to feed your pup over the course of a few days. Start with half a brick, thaw it out, and put it out at meal time. Every dog is different - you may need to only feed this simple product for one or two meals before your pup is ready to incorporate our complete and balanced products. Or, your pup may need to spend a full 3 to 4 days getting adjusted. It's a totally new food so some pups get a bit confused at what to do with it! Runny poops and quick bowel movements are to be expected during this transition period, but shouldn't last for long. Some dogs take to this transition period really well and can have either of these two options introduced cold turkey (see what I did there? ). But some dogs need a bit more patience.
