**COVID-19 update** We are remaining "curb-side" for the foreseeable future. If you have an appointment please bring your cell phone and contactless form of payment. Also ensure your pet is either in a secure carrier or on a leash. We have begun working our way through our surgical/procedural wait lists, if you believe you should be on the list please call our office to be added. We will be booking appointments based on current recommendations from the provincial board, so ...you may not be able to get an appointment immediately. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation while we do our best to keep ourselves and our clients safe and healthy during this stressful time.

Found kitty: a good Samaritan found this kitty in June but didn't notice his tattoo. He was found in the area of Silver Creek. He has a tattoo that hasn't been registered to his owner. If anyone recognizes him please contact our office and we'll contact the finder.

Using positive reinforcement to train your dog to allow nail trims is a great idea, but please don't put it anywhere on your body. Smearing it on the fridge or another smooth, easily cleaned surface to provide distraction is a great idea though. Having a second person to prevent your dog from nipping at you is also a really good idea. Do one nail at a time and if you're worried about using clippers, use an emery board.

To our valued clients, We at Agassiz Animal Hospital and Hope Veterinary Services have been following the COVID-19 situation closely. Starting last week we bega...n enhanced cleaning protocols. These protocols have been further enhanced. For our safety and the safety of our clients we are striving to observe social distancing and increased hygiene. Until future notice we are asking the following of our clients: Please have only ONE person accompany your pets into the practice. This person must be 18 years of age or older. Please leave children, spouses etc at home or in your vehicle. Please be prepared to pay with credit or debit cards, as we are trying to limit handling of cash. If you arrive to either location and there is someone already in the lobby, come in briefly to let us know you are here and where you are parked, one of our staff will come get you once the waiting room has been cleared. Please allow our staff to pick up food, or other supplies off the shelves for you. Please stay home if you are unwell, have traveled outside the country in the last 14 days or have tested positive for COVD-19 or been in contact with anyone who has. If someone comes to the clinic and appears to have signs of illness they will be asked to leave. At this time, although we enjoy cookie/weight check/social calls, we are asking all of our clients to refrain from coming in for this type of visit to our facilities. Similarly, any inquiries or patient updates should be made over the telephone or email. We are able to email estimates, should you require one. For our part, we are spacing our appointments out to allow for the lobby and exam rooms to be cleaned before the next appointment. We ask your patience when booking appointments, as this may affect our availability. We are not booking routine/non-urgent appointments (yearly vaccines, nail trims, routine anal glands) at this time. We will still be doing time-sensitive vaccines such as puppy/kitten series and anal glands for our patients who have a history with rupture/impaction. We are cleaning the debit/credit machine and the front counters between each client. We are adhering to strict handwashing protocols and will no longer be shaking hands with clients.
