Daniso is training to be a barber. Starting his own #smallbusiness and being independent is an exciting thing for him. Daniso has left hemiplegia. People with hemiplegia can experience weakness or slight paralysis on one side of their body, but Daniso doesn’t let that stop him. With the help of supporters like you, he’s received his own equipment and training. And he’s looking forward to supporting himself and his parents in the future. #TransformationTuesday
As a trained #ophthalmologist, Dr. Nick Metcalfe restored sight to thousands of people. He was thrilled and humbled when he saw how happy patients were when their bandages came off for many it was the first time they could see in years. He said, I feel so blessed, and I’m thankful every day to God that I have the skills to give people who are blind their sight I can’t thank God enough that He’s using me as His instrument to do this work. #MondayMotivation #EyeCarePioneer
Right now, kids in Ethiopia are drinking dirty water. They have no water to wash their eyes and ears, scrapes and cuts. So they get sick. Some die. And many develop life-long disabilities that could be prevented. You can give them clean, ability-protecting water you can change lives! For more information visit: www.CleanWaterDay.ca
#HopeIs training. Dr. Kilangalanga has given #sight to countless people through cataract surgery. But that’s not all he does. He trains other local surgeons so they can perform cataract surgery and restore sight too.
Achilles and his friends love playing cars together you can hear them laughing as they pull each other around. Friends always make the day a little brighter. What would you say is the best quality a friend can have? #PhotoFriday #FriendshipGoals
Catherine is a loving mother who supports her daughter as best as she can. It’s been hard, though. Catherine’s daughter has #hydrocephalus, and Catherine had to spend a lot of time away from home so she could earn some income for their family. But thanks to the support of Canadians, Catherine is now getting tailoring training through Hope and Healing’s partner as well as business training she’s a fast learner! And soon, she’ll be able to work from home where she can care for her daughter and also earn a sustainable income for her and her child. Livelihood doesn’t just mean income for the family. It means healthy bodies and healthy hearts as parents have the confidence that they can provide for their kids. #TransformationTuesday
For over 30 years, Beth Jost-Reimer has worked at Hope and Healing International. The beauty and courage of the kids she meets overseas inspire her daily. Beth knows that kids living with disability in poverty are too often told they don’t have value, and that lights a fire in her to do something about it. She understands every child has special gifts and a whole world needs every child. Beth says: All children are beautiful, loveable, intrinsically valuable, intentionally created by God. Every last one has something important to offer the world, their families, their communities. We are all poorer if we hurt their spirits and deny them opportunity. #MondayMotivation
#HopeIs setting and accomplishing new goals. Denis had severe bowlegs that made it painful for him to walk, but after surgery and lots of work in #rehabilitation, he’s able to walk, squat and jump on his own! Every child needs to play and Denis loves playing with others.
Your prayers change lives thank you! With each prayer, you say, Every child is precious. Thank you for helping transform bodies and hearts by praying with us. Take a look at all the prayers we’re praying this year! Check it out here: https://bit.ly/3pRXE6E
Lorna is thrilled to be on the mend after surgery for her clubfoot. And she kept her healinghugs bear close each step of the way. Every child is precious, and thanks to a generous supporter, this little one is getting the care she needs! #PhotoFriday #healinghugs
